eco toursWe offer many eco tours of the Mayan Riviera and Yucatan Peninsula. Spend a day shopping in the beautiful colonial town of Vallodolid. Visit the Sian Ka’an preserve. Snorkel with sea turtles or visit a school in the interior of the Yucatan.  Our Mayan guides are proud of their rich heritage and look forward to showing you everything that makes the Yucatan Peninsula and Mayan Riviera unique.

Our most popular tours:

Mayan Flora and Fauna River Tour
Driving time from Akumal to Sian K’aan 1 hour each way.
Guests visit Sian K’aan preserve and float along a fresh water channel, visiting quaint archaeological ruins. As a special add on, guests can also visit with a Mayan healer to learn about Mayan botanical and medicinal plants. Includes lunch.
 
Rio Lagartos Flamingo Boat Tour
Driving time from Akumal to Rio Lagartos 3 hours each way.
Guests visit Rio Lagartos on a 2.5 hour boat tour to see the variety of birds and flamingos, visit an authentic fishing village with a seafood lunch.
Mayan Spa and Lagoon Swim add on at additional cost.
 
Traditional Mayan Cave and Vallodolid Cultural Tour
Driving time from Akumal to Balankanche is 2 hours each way.
Guests visit a traditional Mayan colonial village to shop for fruits/vegetables, Mayan clothing and other cultural items. This is an early morning visit with lunch, and then guests are taken to Blankanche, cave used in ancient times for Mayan ceremonies. It has an incredible underground World Tree made of stalactite and other special nuances.
 
Ek Balam and Cenote Tour
Driving time from Akumal to Ek Balam is 2.5 hours each way (longer route through communities)
Guests visit different Mayan communities along the way to learn about the culture and economics of the Mayan people. The ruins of Ek Balam are off the traditional tour route but offer a diversity of archeological ruins. This tour includes lunch in Temozon to try authentic Yucatan smoked meat with a variety of sauces and homemade tortillas.
